interACT @ EPIC 2018
9-11 October 2018 | Ηonolulu, Hawaii, USA
The Ethnographic Praxis in Industry Conference (EPIC) 2018 was held in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA on 9-11th October 2018 with about 600 attendees. Our highly talented visiting students at ITS Leeds and DLR, Markus Rothmüller, Pernille Holm Rasmussen and Signe Alexandra Vendelbo-Larsen (all from Aalborg University) presented their paper under the title ‘Designing for Interactions with Automated Vehicles – Navigating Ethnography at the Boundary of Quantitative-Data-Driven Disciplines’ and was attended by around 200 people. The paper critically reflects on three decisive elements from an anthropological perspective for developing external human-machine interfaces for automated vehicles to be cooperative when interacting with human road users in mixed-, urban-, future traffic situations.
